Electrical Inspector

The City of Brewer is seeking an organized, highly motivated and team oriented individual to fill the position of Electrical Inspector.

Individuals who are licensed electricians and already possess the necessary state certifications for Code Enforcement Officers are preferred; however, a combination of licenses, certifications, work experience, and education may be accepted. Qualified individuals must possess a valid State of Maine driver’s license.

The essential duties of this position include: a working knowledge of state statutes and the ability to ensure compliance with applicable laws, including local ordinances. The successful candidate will be able to maintain a professional demeanor and work cooperatively with city staff, contractors, developers, and property owners.

Code Enforcement Inspector

The City of Brewer is seeking an organized, highly motivated and team oriented individual to fill the position of Code Enforcement Inspector with the Code Enforcement Department. 

Individuals already possessing the necessary state certifications are preferred; however, a combination of certifications, work experience, and education may be accepted.   Qualified individuals should possess necessary certifications for code enforcement inspections; however, we are willing to provide training and testing for the right candidate.   Must have a State of Maine driver’s license.      

The essential duties of this position include: a working knowledge of state statutes, local codes and ordinances, MUBEC certifications, building and construction trades, indoor and outdoor plumbing codes, and electrical codes.   The successful candidate will be able to maintain a professional demeanor and work cooperatively with city staff, contractors, developers, and property owners.
