City of Brewer- Water Department
Utility Worker

The City of Brewer is seeking to hire a motivated individual to serve as a Utility Worker for an exciting and dynamic Water Department. 
This position is an hourly position, assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution and facility system, requiring the use of equipment such as power saws, jackhammer, pumps, shovels, hand tools and other related equipment. Must be able to retrieve process and complete documentation, both electronic and paper. 
A Maine Class C driver’s license is required.  Current Class II Maine Water Operator’s Distribution license is preferred, or required within three years of hire. Prior construction experience and/or Class B driver’s license is desirable. A Class B driver’s license is required within two years of hire. 
Selected candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening, as well as driver’s license and background check.  The City of Brewer offers competitive wages and a comprehensive benefit package.

City of Brewer- Public Works Department
Summer Employment

The Brewer Public Works Department is seeking to hire a minimum of 3 individuals to serve as our temporary full-time (40-hours per week) Summer Crew. 

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain valuable work experience, or bridge gaps in their current employment.  Prior experience with sidewalk paving, line painting, and/or lawn repair is preferred; however, we are willing to provide the necessary training for those candidates who demonstrate a strong desire to learn and have a positive team-orientated attitude. 

If you are a hardworking and dependable individual who enjoys working outside on a variety of construction and maintenance related tasks, then this is the place for you.  

A typical workweek is 7:30am to 3:00pm, Monday – Friday with occasional weekends and/or overtime. All applicants must be at least 17 years of age with a valid driver’s license and able to pass a pre-hire drug screen test, license, and background check.
