Special Holiday curbside collection & Christmas tree recycling
The City of Brewer is offering to its citizens a waiver on the 5-bag limit for curbside trash disposal for one week to help with the disposal of extra waste typically generated during the Christmas Holiday.
For the week starting Monday, December 30, 2024 residents will be allowed to place more than 5 bags curbside for rubbish collection. The size of bag, weight limit per bag and other rules for the curbside collection will still apply and remember broken down cardboard does not need to be put in bags. This will be the only week in which residents will be allowed to put out more than 5 bags of rubbish for the curbside collection.
CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING
The City of Brewer is again offering the convenience to residents of dropping their Christmas trees off at the Brewer Auditorium inside the lower entrance off Wilson Street anytime on or before Monday, January 13, 2024. Residents can also dispose of Christmas trees free of charge at the Brewer landfill, landfill hours (every Tuesday morning between 7:15am – 11:30am and the first and third Saturday of the month 7:30am – 2:00pm). Before dropping off trees at the Auditorium or the Landfill, please be sure to remove all decorations and the tree stand, and please do not wrap the tree in plastic. The regular curbside trash pickup will not take Christmas trees nor will the City crews be collecting the trees curbside. We thank you for your cooperation and wish you all a safe and joyful holiday season.
Please reach out to the Public Works Department at 989-7800 with any questions.
