Important Notice: New Curbside Trash Collection Contractor Starts July 1, 2025
Household Curbside Trash Collection Rules:
- Each household is allowed up to five (5) bags per week, each weighing less than 40 pounds.
- Stickers for additional bags are available for $2 each and can be purchased at Brewer City Hall, the Brewer Public Library or online.
- Cardboard must be broken down for easy handling but does not need to be placed in a container.
Collection Schedule:
- There will be no change to the collection days (view the collection schedule here). However, the time of day your rubbish is collected may vary with the new contractor.
- To ensure collection, all rubbish must be curbside by 7:00 AM on your scheduled collection day.Our goal is to make the transition to Gregory’s Disposal as smooth as possible.
Missed Pick-Up or Concerns?
If your rubbish is missed or you experience any issues with the new service, please contact the Brewer Public Works Department at 207-989-7800, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM. The sooner they are notified, the faster they can address any problems.
Transition Schedule Recap:
- Monday collection residents will be serviced by the current contractor on June 30, 2025, and Gregory’s Disposal will begin collecting the Monday route on July 7, 2025.
- Residents with Tuesday or Wednesday collection will begin receiving service from Gregory’s Disposal starting July 1 and July 2, respectively.
