New Year’s Day
The Joseph L. Ferris Community Center, Brewer Public Library, Brewer City Hall and other administrative offices will be closed Wednesday, January 1st, in observance of New Year's Day. Brewer Public Safety – Brewer Police and Fire Departments are open 24/7. Call 911 for EMERGENCY CALLS. Call 989-7001 for NON-emergency calls. Homeschool children grades 2 - 5 are invited to participate in a book club led by Children's Librarian Shelley Arnold. Each month, participants will read and discuss a few chapters of a classic book. Our first book will be Little House on the Prairie, by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Participants must provide their own copy of the book.

January's Book Club read is THE ISLAND OF SEA WOMEN. Set largely on the remote Korean island of Jeju, the novel follows Young-sook and Mi-ja, girls from strikingly different backgrounds who bond over their shared love of the sea.
