Afterschool Program – Like No Other!

The After School Program offers many activities and new experiences for your child.  Registrations for next fall’s Afterschool Afterschool Program will be held in May.  For more information on this program contact the Brewer Parks and Recreation Department at (207) 989 – 5199 for registration dates and times.

Mighty Munchkins T-Ball

Our youngest baseball players in pre-school, (ages 4 and 5), will learn the basics of America’s favorite pastime, (hitting, throwing, catching, and base running), along with sportsmanship, and teamwork.  Mighty Munchkin baseball begins in late April. Go to brewerrec.com for dates and times.

Little Sluggers Baseball

The Little Sluggers Baseball League is designed to introduce players (boys and girls) in kindergarten and grade one to the basic skills of America’s favorite pastime through fun games and practices.  Players will learn important skills such as throwing, fielding, base running, batting (with or without a tee), and sportsmanship.  Little Sluggers also begin late April. Adult Spring Volleyball

Our Adult Spring Volleyball Leagues run from March – May offering at least five different leagues or levels of play. League days and length of season may vary depending on the number of teams registered for each league. Due to time and space requirements, each league will have a limited number of teams, which will be accepted on a first paid – first entered basis.

Monday – Women’s Divisions Game Night*

Tuesday & Wednesday – Co-Ed Recreation Divisions Game Nights*

*Game nights may vary depending on the number of teams in each division.

Karate

Adult Karate: Improve your self control, confidence, awareness and respect, all while getting into shape with Instructor Gary West.

Adult Fitness Class

This program provides an energizing workout that’s perfect for all fitness levels and will enhance your overall health and well being with aerobic and conditioning routines. Participants should bring an exercise mat with them.

Senior Exercise Class

Older adults who are looking to improve their strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness will enjoy this class for the socialization as well as the health benefits.

Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9:00 – 10:00 p.m.  $2.00 per class.

Adult Yoga

Join certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor Bunny Barclay. Classes are designed to improve strength, flexibility, and balance, and to increase the minds ability to focus and relax through self awareness. Class format will also include postures and guided relaxation/meditation. Participants should bring a yoga mat with them.

Special Events

Little Peeps Egg Hunt

Our newest egg hunt is for preschoolers ages 3 and 4!  Little Peeps meet at the Penobscot Landing Children’s Garden.

Preschoolers have the chance to gather candy filled eggs and a toy prize!

This program is free to Brewer residents and $3.00 for non-Brewer residents.

Flashlight Egg Hunt

The Flashlight Egg Hunt is held at the Joseph L. Ferris Community Center (either on Doyle Field or the Community Playground – depending on the weather).

Participants ages 5-9 have the opportunity to search for prize and candy filled eggs.

One grand prize will be presented along with a number of other special prizes.  All participants should bring a flashlight with them.

This program is free to Brewer Residents and  $3.00 fee for non-Brewer Residents.

Spring Children’s Yard Sale

The Parks & Recreation Department can help make spring cleaning profitable by offering those wishing to sell gently used children’s clothing and toys at our annual Spring Children’s Yard Sale, ($25.00 per table).

The spring sale takes place in early April, (contact us for dates and information about reserving a table).

Lines form early for this favorite event for both shoppers & sellers!

We also offer a Fall Children’s Yard Sale in October!
