Donate books to be used for the book sale – no yellowed or musty items please, and no more than ten books at a time.
Donate items for the Library’s collection – no more than ten books at a time. (Please note, for book donations, we are only able to accept new books published within the last six months, Brewer history items, and books by Maine authors. Donations of adult audiobooks and DVDs are always welcome.)
Book donations can only be accepted within the Library and during regular hours; please do not leave donations in the parking lot or the after-hours book drop. We cannot accept any donations of more than ten books. Please call us for more information on where to take all larger donations.
Memorial Donations Monetary gifts and memorial donations are respectfully accepted. Funds given without designation will be used at the discretion of the Library Director to support the mission and programs of the Library. Funds donated to support our collection will be used in accordance with the Library selection policy. Recognition is given with book plates placed in the materials, thank-you letters written by the Library Director to both the donor and any family members specified, a listing in the Library Memorial Book, and acceptance by the Brewer City Council.
Library Association Join the Brewer Library Association for $5.00 per year. The Library Association is an independent nonprofit organization that provides support for Library projects. Contact the Library director for more information.
Volunteering Volunteer needs vary at the Library, depending on seasonal projects; at this time, the Library is not actively seeking new volunteers. Those interested in being added to a rotating list of volunteers for future projects may stop by the circulation desk to fill out a volunteer application, or print an application and mail it to the Library. Volunteer applicants must be age 14 or older.
