Summer Employment
The Brewer Public Works Department is now taking applications for summer employees to help with various work activities during the summer months such as sidewalk paving, line painting, lawn repairs etc.  We are looking for hard working, dependable individuals who enjoy working outside on a variety of task in a team environment. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age however, 18 years of age and a valid driver’s license is preferred. Interested individuals can acquire an application at the Public Works office located at 221 Green Point Road in Brewer, Maine.  All prospective employees will be required to pass a pre-hire drug screen test and background check.

City of Brewer- Library Assistant: Archives and Digitization
If you are seeking meaningful work and are interested in history’s impact on the present and the future, this is for you! The City of Brewer is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, friendly team player to fill the position of Library Assistant: Archives and Digitization. This position is part-time, working a set schedule of nineteen (19) hours a week with hours split among archives and circulation tasks. Some flexible hours may be required to assist with special events. The minimum qualifications for this position include a high-school diploma or GED equivalent, strong technology skills and knowledge, and experience and/or training with historical items and archives. The successful applicant should possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills; ability to work independently or with a team; knowledge of and interest in genealogy, historical research, and archives use; interest in and affinity for working with people of all ages and backgrounds; willingness and ability to quickly learn new tasks; and passion for the work and mission of libraries and archives. Archives experience is preferred. Employment is subject to background pre-employment drug screening check. The City of Brewer offers a competitive wage and benefits package.
