Laborer/Light Equipment Operator- The City of Brewer, Maine is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to fill the position of Laborer/Light Equipment Operator. The Brewer Public Works Department is dynamic and versatile department responsible for much of the city’s infrastructure including the maintenance and construction of streets, sidewalks, storm water, and sewer systems. Experience with operating a variety of light equipment, working on construction type projects, as well as basic carpentry and masonry skills, and snow removal operations are highly desirable. However, we are willing to provide training to a candidate who has enthusiasm to learn and is a highly motivated, self-starter. The candidate selected for this position should already have a valid Class B Maine Commercial driver’s license, or have the ability to obtain one within 6-months of hire. Candidates must have a high school diploma, or a G.E.D. equivalent, in order to apply for this position and must be able to pass a physical, drug screening, and background check.

Library Assistant: InterLibrary Loans and Outreach-The City of Brewer is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, friendly team player to fill the position of Library Assistant: InterLibrary Loans and Outreach. If you are seeking meaningful work with real community impact, this is for you! This position is part-time, working a set schedule of nineteen (19) hours a week with hours split among InterLibrary Loans, outreach, and circulation tasks. Some flexible hours may be required to assist with special events.
