The 16th Annual Brewer Days Celebration kicks off Friday evening, September 8th, at the Brewer Auditorium Complex with the Brewer Hometown Band performance and announcement of the Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year. The band’s concert will begin at 6 PM and will feature old favorites and patriotic tunes. Mayor Kevin O’Connell will announce the Business and Citizen of the Year at the intermission.

Beginning at 5 PM will be the 12th Annual Brewer Youth Hockey Family barbeque in the auditorium parking lot featuring hamburger, cheeseburger, or hotdog meals for a minimal fee.  All meals include chips, soda, and cole slaw.

The Family Street Dance & Block Party featuring music by DJ Hart will run from 7- 9:30 PM in the auditorium parking lot. Wrapping up the evening will be a fireworks show.

Saturday’s events start off with the Brewer Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast, from 7-9:30 AM in the lower level of the auditorium. Adults $5 and Children $3.00. The Children’s Carnival will run from 10 AM – 2 PM and will feature face painting, inflatable slide, petting zoo, games, and displays.

The Brewer Fire and Police Departments will be on-site with displays and demos from 10 AM to 2 PM. Musical entertainment will feature the Allison Ames Band at 10:45 AM – 11:30 AM, the Ian Black Band at 11:45 AM – 12:30 PM, the RetroRockerz at 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM and the Sergeant Stache & Major Majors of the 195th Army Band from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

The ever-popular children’s money grab will take place in the auditorium gymnasium at 2:45 PM, followed by the giant family water slide at 3:30 on Doyle Field. A free public skate, sponsored by the Penobscot Ice Arena, will take place at the arena on Acme Road from 4-6 PM. Rounding out Saturday’s schedule will be the annual Brewer Historical Society Spaghetti Dinner, from 5-6:30 PM in the senior center located in the lower level of the auditorium. Tickets are $6 per person, age 5 and under free. A silent auction will also take place.

On Sunday, September 10th, the 10th Annual Brewer Days Car Show will take place in the auditorium parking lot, from 9 AM – 3PM. This event is sponsored by Brewer Boy Scout Troop 15 and will feature music, food, prizes, and children’s games.

In addition, this year we are holding the 1st Annual Brewer Land Trust Day at the Brewer Waterfront, from 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM. This event will feature games, live music and new member prize drawings.  Become a new member of the Brewer Land Trust ($25 – click here) to be automatically entered into the drawings. This event is sponsored by the Brewer Land Trust with prize donations from several local businesses.
